NextGen got a little help from their Canadian venues Side City Studio to come up with a modern twist to a vintage theme and create the Egyptian Rise video slot, which is a brightly neon representation of an ancient world and a setting you wouldn’t even dream of seeing Pharaohs, Ankhs and Scarabs in. In all honestly, we are not that big of fans of the entire Egypt theme. It has been exploited one too many times so far and when we heard that NextGen are releasing a game with that thematic we weren’t that excited.
However, NextGen has done enough to convince us otherwise as Egyptian Rise is truly a fascinating game with plenty of exciting features that will make you forget all of the annoying neon lights.
To start from the top, NextGen has seemingly found a winning formula. That “on a roll” feature is quite interesting and is basically a meter of a kind, counting your wins before it activates an exciting bonus round. However, there is a twist to it as well, as each win in this game will initiate a re-spin, which means you can get to that Pharaoh Feature quite easily – with a single hit to that spin button even – if you get fortunate enough.

What We Do Not Like
Like we said, ancient Egyptian themes are not our cup of tea. Neon lights have also been the first thing we noticed, and those flashy visuals were the first thing we found to be a shortcoming to this exciting game.
Still, a theme we are not particularly keen on and colouring that we find inappropriate for the theme were quickly forgotten with all of the excitement within.
This game is perfect for gamers that like to have a taste of something unusual, but they will have to be careful with bet values since $80 as the maximum bet can be a bit too pricey for some of the players that are looking for pure fun.
Worth Playing
We did not expect to say this when we first laid our eyes on this latest title from NextGen, but the Egyptian Rise video slot is indeed a fine game.
