Theme of The Game
Midas Gold is the most recent Red Tiger Gaming mobile slot machine that I’ve had the pleasure of testing out, and it’s one of their newer releases as well. The game has been created as an homage to the legend of King Midas, the ruler mentioned in the stories of Ancient Greece, which prayed that he would get the power to touch objects and turn them into gold.
He didn’t think things through though, and so he ended up dying of starvation, since his prayer turned true and he could no longer touch food without transforming it into a precious metal.
The game that came out of this theme is a pleasant looking one, same as all titles from Red Tiger Gaming. It uses a lot of gold in its design, naturally, while objects will show you images of King Midas, of his queen, the throne, gold made objects, fruits and five playing cards.
Red Tiger Gaming is still considered a young developer these days, though they’ve been around for a couple of years and they managed to launch an impressive number of mobile slots already.
Their games tend to have the same betting systems and similar features, but the graphics are spectacular in every single case. One thing that they usually don’t get right is the theme, where they don’t show much imagination. Midas Gold is one of their more unique releases, in terms of topic chosen.
How To Play It
You get to play this slot with the standard Red Tiger Gaming betting range, which starts at $0.20 and ends up at a top value of $500. Whatever amount you choose, it will be used to cover the 243 ways to win that are available.
In a game with 5 reels and 243 ways to win, whatever combinations you form, they will be using symbols of the same type that appear on reels that are adjacent, and also starting from the leftmost reel.
A single major feature is available in Midas Gold, and it takes the form of something called the Midas Touch. The requirement, in order to trigger it, is to have King Midas appearing in the game, as a symbol on one of the reels.
When this happens, you see a hand appearing from below and touching one of the symbols shown on the reels. All instances of that particular symbol will be transformed into gold versions.
The symbols in question are going to be locked next, and then respins are triggered for as long as you don’t get any new golden symbols to show up. This feature could have huge potential to turn the game into something exciting, with big payouts offered to players.
There are no other features introduced in Midas Gold, either big or small, so the list feels a little bit light unfortunately.
The paytable’s list of rewards appears to be based on multiples of the total bet, the best one reaching 8x. With the right wager in place, you could get $4,000 out of it.
Naturally, the respins feature can land you a lot of golden symbols at the same time, which get locked and keep growing in numbers, and so it’s entirely possible that you could have as much as 2,000x as a prize from a single round.
Midas Gold delivers a decent looking design, which is what you get from all Red Tiger Gaming mobile slots, along with a single feature, which is interesting.
