Theme of The Game
King Tusk is an African themed mobile slot machine, or at least that’s where the action inside is taking place. The actual main actors of this game are the elephants of course, hence the name given to it.
There are multiple symbols which will have images of these majestic creatures in them, showing you the male elephant and his family in various circumstances. The symbols that accompany these inside include African pottery filled with treasures, but also logos and the usual poker cards. The poker cards are designed in a tribal style, with different African creatures placed next to them.
I think that it’s an enjoyable looking mobile slot machine overall. The predominant color is brown, and you see it in the background image as well, where the savannah is represented with a number of wild animals roaming free on it.
Developer
Microgaming got its start as an online company back in the middle of the 90s, at a time when the casino industry was making its first steps on the Internet. They’ve been one of the first to create software for the industry and they even had their own casinos at first.
They released their Viper platform back in 2002 and they continued to expand and to create slot machines and other casinos games since then. Right now, they have a Quickfire platform as well, for those that prefer instant play, and they managed to create more than 500 slot machines.
How To Play It
You may use a wager that varies between $0.25 and $62.50 in King Tusk. Given that you are required to cover all 25 lines each round, you can estimate yourself that the line bet will vary between $0.01 and $2.50.
Mostly, you can expect a regular slot machine here, when looking at the gameplay at least. You have the regular Microgaming interface, you get the usual paylines, and overall I don’t think that the slot will pose you any problems.

Special Features
The symbol that gives the slot its name, meaning that it shows King Tusk in it, will act as the substitute and will be usable by the various regular symbols as part of their own combinations. Apparently, the feature has an extra ability which will trigger at random moments. That ability gives it the power to expand on the reel it is on, but it doesn’t happen every time.
A big attraction point with this mobile slot machine seems to be the feature which has the free spins for you. The game logo will get you to this stage, provided that it appeared in three scattered positions. You will be the one picking which of the three variants you prefer at the next stage, all of them having 10 free spins but with the extra feature different.
One of these features is called Elephants Gone Wild and it will give you wild elephant symbols, meaning that it turns all regular icons of that kind into substitutes. Elephants Stampede is another one, where each free spin gets two randomly chosen wild reels. Finally, there is the Elephant Dance, with wilds added to the reels and remaining there for the next 5 rounds.
Maximum Payouts
The game appears to have jackpots of up to 1,500x to give away, which would mean up to $3,750 depending on the wager that was used.
Summary
King Tusk has managed to make the African safari look interesting, and a lot of that has to do with the way the graphics were implemented, but also with the different types of free spins that you can get going.
