Theme of The Game
Hotline looks like a mobile slot machine that’s using an 80s theme, relying on inspiration from cop shows like Tango and Cash, or Miami Vice. If those are familiar TV series to you, then you might recognize the style of this new NetEnt release.
It’s using the same idea, but it’s relying on modern graphics, so you’re not actually going to feel like you’re in an 80s slot. Two cops in suits are getting the main roles here, with a third character being a woman armed with a handgun, and so she looks like a perfect fit for the villain.
I enjoyed the fact that you get only proper themed symbols inside, so you’re looking at images of the three characters that I mentioned, along with scattered Sunsets, images of sports cars and a mix of symbols that appear to show the Crown’s Jewels.
Developer
NetEnt is a content creator that is considered by most to be the best one today, in terms of the quality of the games that they’re releasing at least.
Others might have more slot machines, but their games are nowhere near those of NetEnt in terms of quality, choice of themes or unique features. Where NetEnt doesn’t do as well is in their offer of progressive jackpots, where they only have a couple of titles.
How To Play It
15 to 150 coins are going to be in every single wager that you’re placing, the exact number depending on the level that you select for that round. Levels 1 to 10 will mean that you’re going to use 1 to 10 coins each round. As for the coin denomination, that one starts at $0.01 and can end up at $1. Your complete betting range in Hotline will be $0.15 to $150. If you’re also activating the additional hotlines, then your wager will go up in value.
The layout is a regular one, 5×3 reels and 30 active lines being supported. The hotlines require bonus bets and they work a bit differently from what you might be used to, but they’re easy to use.

Special Features
The feature that borrows its name to the game is the Hotline. The player is the one that selects it, by picking one of the three rows.
Any wild symbols that land on the Hotline will be expanded and will cover the entire column at that point. You get these wilds to stick in their position for the duration of the re-spins. As for their role in the free spins, there they will also stick and will remain in the same position until the feature is over.
Additional Hotlines may be activated during this feature, so you could have them on all three rows, provided that you’re willing to place the extra bet to do that.
The wild symbols are usable inside as replacements, regular symbols most of the time, but with the capability to expand if they’re landing on the Hotline. Re-Spins are also triggered as a result of this wild expansion on one of the reels. With new wilds landing and expanding, the re-spins can continue at this point.
The final feature comes in the form of free spins, triggered through scatters. The free spins will benefit of expanding wilds that become sticky.
Maximum Payouts
The game’s best payout potential will come when you have additional hotlines activated. Depending on that extra bet that you’re using, the RTP varies from 96.13% to 97.04%. Get the full screen occupied by expanding wilds, and up to 400x the stake, or $60,000, could be yours.
Summary
It’s a very interesting release, with great features and the high RTP all contributing to the amount of fun you’re going to have in this slot.
