It will soon be the time when that deep-throated Ho Ho Ho chuckle will be heard on every corner so you better get ready and warmed up for the festive season coming your way.
Play’n GO have decided to get us in the mood upfront with their brand new Holiday Season slot, which is a five-reel, three-row and ten-payline game which celebrates Christmas.
A high variance of the game, Holiday Season benefits from one special feature but can reward you with whopping 500,000 coins and we though it just might be a good idea to analyse all of the good and not so good aspects of this brand new release.
What We Love
We love Christmas, who doesn’t? Ok, the Grinch does not count. Widely appealing theme is an excellent choice for a slot game and tip of the hat to Play’n GO for nailing it with their choice.
The game takes us into a small, peaceful town, straight on the streets to celebrate the big day with fireworks, confetti, champagne and good food and that is something we all have to appreciate.
What is more, through the Free Spins feature which gives you the initial batch of 5 free rounds, you can hope for some great rewards which will go on to make your Christmas memorable. The bonus feature in this festive theme is initiated once you land at least 3 Champagne Scatters.
Play’n GO are telling us that you will have wins guaranteed on each free spin during the feature, which is great. What is more, each time you land a Scatter during the bonus, additional two complimentary spins will be added to your tally.
The best thing about this game and the bonus round, however, is the fact that there are impressive and jaw-dropping 500,000 coins as the great reward, which make it well worthwhile.
What We Do Not Like
Sadly and unfortunately, we have been rather disappointed with this game, despite the possible whopping wins.
It is as if Play’n GO took this game for granted.
That is the feeling that prevails when we lay our eyes on a banal screenplay involved in this game. Holiday Season is lacking proper enticements, it is utterly straightforward and borderline boring.
With nothing more than a couple of Free Spins as the only bonus round, Holiday Season fails to impress. Play’n GO had so many options to make their game better and more engaging, but it seems that they lacked the effort to try and incorporate them.
Base game is as plain as it gets. You go on lining up at least three matching symbol which does not happen that often and is not enough to cover the cost of your spin even when it does.
Should you get lucky enough to land 3 Scatters, five wins are quite quick to roll out, more so if you do not land any more Scatters that would add 2 more spins to the tally.
It would have been highly appreciated if the game had a couple of multipliers in there somewhere or at least overlaying symbols of some sort, expanding Wilds of stacked symbols of any sort. But, nothing.
What is even worse, the entire game is wrapped up in low quality graphics which lack detail, do not have any of the 3D appeal to it or much loved cinematic experience to boast with.
We do understand that we are the Grinch in the story, an ugly creature out on a mission to destroy your Christmas, but that’s just the way it is unfortunately.
Play’n GO did not give any real reason to fall in love with their festive feature, which in addition to all of the negative aspects listed above is quite expensive. The top bet of $100 in no case will make your investment a well-spent one.
